Performing & Visual Arts Opportunity for your school - a must for 2018!
YOH Fest (Youth On Health Festival), now in its 21st Year has grown into one of the largest Health & Performing/Visual Arts event for schools across WA. It combines health education with the fun of the arts!
The YOH Fest challenge is to construct and perform a dance, drama piece or visual artwork around the annual health theme. Every year, teachers tell us how this process not only encourages students to explore and talk about important health issues and how to overcome them, but also develops leadership, team work and creativity.
Proudly sponsored by Act-Belong-Commit, YOH Fest combines health education with the fun of the performing arts to create an opportunity for young people to express themselves, explore important health issues and experience the thrill of being on stage in a State-wide competition.
YOH Fest heats are held across WA in front of judges, with the top 8 of each category (High School entries only) being invited to participate in the YOH Fest State Final in October in Mandurah. YOH Fest IS open to Primary students, but as performance showcase item at the venue of choice, with a couple of primary items invited back to perform at the YOH Fest Grand Finals in October
Registrations to YOH Fest are now open and the health theme for 2018 is: “Pushed To The Limit”
Everything and everybody has a limit. Relationships, the environment, comfort zones…the list is endless. Sometimes it is good to push the boundaries, but what happens when we go so far that a breakdown, wear-out or burnout occurs? Will this lack or care catch up to us? Look at the Act-Belong-Commit message and show us the coping strategies on how to deal with these limits.
This is a great opportunity for the whole family to get involved by supporting the Midwest Heats, right here in Geraldton in our Queens Park Theatre.
